A Brief History Of Tesla

In order to create a viable electric vehicle, Tesla had to invent a battery of superior quality. Standard vehicle batteries were out of the question because they are not meant to be discharged and recharged repeatedly. Standard lead-acid batteries are meant to hold a constant charge, so they were not an option.
Instead, Tesla went with Lithium-Ion batteries. These are probably the best rechargeable batteries known, as they can be discharged and recharged many times. Tesla refined the design further by experimenting with many different additives. One of these is nickel manganese cobalt compound (NMC), which seems to have increased the range and power of the vehicles.
Advanced batteries are probably the main advantage that Tesla has over the competition. As the battery is the heart of an electric car, it will make or break the whole package. Tesla has claimed that its upcoming 2020 Roadster will be able to travel a million miles per battery. This claim might seem crazy, but the company has already published some research (in cooperation with Dalhousie University)to show that it is possible.
Of course, there are certain problems to be mentioned. For one thing, Tesla batteries are extremely expensive. Thus, replacement is not a small matter. For another thing, lithium-ion batteries can explode on impact. Also, these kinds of batteries can easily be ruined if they are allowed to sit without charge for too long. We can only hope that these problems will be solved in the future.
On the subject of battery explosion, we should mention that newer Teslas have a lot more protection for the battery compartment, so the company has at least done its best to address this issue. Although your rates will vary according to your local electricity costs (the rate is usually expressed in terms of cents per kilowatt-hour), most estimates put the cost of a full charge somewhere between $10-$15.
Of course, the above is just a rough estimate. Your actual costs will depend on your model of car, how far you drive on a daily basis, and what method of charging you use. For instance, you can get a high-powered home charging setup that can give a full charge in less than four hours, but you will definitely pay more for that kind of volume. It is virtually impossible to give you a definite time frame on this question. That’s because your total battery life will depend largely on how much you drive your Tesla. Thus, we will have to answer this question in terms of distance rather than time.

Tesla cars are made from a blend of materials, with the majority being composed of aluminum and steel. Both are high-strength variations and are used together to attain the benefits of both. This results in a car that is both lightweight and strong.

That is where the hardened steel is used, and they went a step further for the undercarriage. The underside of a Tesla is protected by titanium, one of the few metals that is stronger than steel. When tested by experts at Motor Trend Magazine, it was found that ludicrous mode performed even better than expected. It broke the world record for the fastest 0-60 acceleration, in fact. The Model 3 that was used for the test was able to make 60 MPH in about 2.27 seconds. Of course, the ludicrous mode does use more electricity, but that is to be expected. It’s also nice that this mode has more than one setting so that you don’t have to go all the way to the extreme.
